Pico CSS has reached its final release with version 2.1.1 and will no longer be maintained. The decline in its relevance is attributed to advancements in AI, which can now produce lightweight, standalone, accessible HTML with the necessary CSS, diminishing the need for a minimal CSS framework focused on semantic HTML.
